I won't tell you yet what my initial conclusions were. I don't want to spoil the fun. (... and not to confuse anyone, my report has not been published yet and none of the comments on the site are mine)

I got this in the e-mail today:
"Jim - love your site, and have corresponded before. Bit concerned with your findings. I think your report needs more analysis. There are several other anomolies in the image like smudging in the reporter clothing, reflection can't be camera lens, plus shadow analysis etc. (Forwarded for you what it is worth). But hey, well done for putting the report up for scrutiny from your peers. Keep up the good work. Nick"
To which I responded:
"Actually, my report hasn't been published yet. I was contacted to provide a more thorough and accurate report than the one submitted to the site.
I guess it was a bit confusing, sorry for that."
I've also added the little bit about none of the comments on the site have come from me.
